What are Righteous Ripples?

As corny as it may seem, for the past 5 years the idea of positive ripples extending the impact that we have on those around us, and the corresponding impact that everyone who touches our lives has on each of us simply wouldn’t leave my thoughts. In 25 years as an administrator in high performing middle schools I have observed thousands of incidents where the presence and interactions between people has genuinely had a long-lasting positive effect on the world in which we live. It is a passion to extend those impacts in the field of education - one of the most difficult, stressful, and important professions in any society.

As a former ELA teacher (many years ago), I always enjoy a little alliteration, so the idea of Righteous Ripples truly captures the intent of our mission. Righteous Ripples are different than paying it forward - which is certainly a wonderful concept. Righteous Ripples are the deeper impact we have on one another that help shape who we are, what our belief systems entail, and help guide the decisions we make.

Ripple Learning Groups is dedicated to maximizing the opportunities for teachers, administrators, and students to create those positive ripples throughout their lives and communities, because this moment requires it.

Throughout these pages we will be sharing stories of the Righteous Ripples that have influenced our lives and how those impacts have created the ripples that help everyone grow and learn. I would also encourage readers to share their own stories of how a Righteous Ripple has effected their own lives.
